Probably the best signing that we can make this transfer window IMO. Delighted that Miles is staying with us for another 4/5 months. Now we just need to get rid of the deadwood in the team and replace them with better quality players like Miles and we should then definitely secure 'Top 6' football this season.

We're all going on a European tour...

One or two signings along with no big departures and we will be pushing hearts and st Johnstone..I don't doubt it!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Now , we just need Roberts to actually play and prove he is a great find, or Mutumbo to finally settle and start sticking the ball in the net, and life will be sweet

Great that it is sorted for now but I hope there are serious discussions ongoing with him or his agent for the longer term. The last thing we want is another Summer wondering whether we will be starting the season without a recognised striker.

As Yogi told the press today....Swindon hold an option to extend his deal, which prevents ICTFC from offering him a pre-contract (at this point).

Agree but if he performs until the end of the season he might be worth a transfer fee. If Swindon do not want him then £50 k fee may do it . As we climb the football rankings there will be a time we have to pay for quality

On the other hand, why not wait until the end of the season and put that £50,000 towards his salary package ?

Excellent news. He makes such a difference to the side. one of the best prospects we have had for a long time. The struggle is going to be to hold on to him, as by the end of the season plenty of other clubs will be alerted to his skills. I hope we can make him and Swindon a decent offer when the time comes  and persuade him to stay.

Because he will still be a Swindon player and they will want a transfer fee and Swindon will not care about Storeys salary . They have the option to keep him at the end of the season

......which makes it tricky to put him on a pre contract just now but come June they have no legal right to exercise that so called 'option' just like we no legal right to tie down Ryan Christie for an additional year despite having the 'option' to do so.

Come June, Miles will be a free agent and can sign for any club outwith England without any fee being involved.

I think that we can ask a development fee since he is under 24 years. I would not think we would ask the earth and these matters are often settled by tribunal.

Don't imagine Mutumbo will ever be the sort to "stick it in the net" at least not on a regular basis. However with his running power he may create a few more.

I only think a development fee is required should Swindon offer a new deal of equal or greater to his current and Storey declines it. Given the fact he's been continuously loaned out and never really used by Swindon its unlikely that any such fee would be very high.
