He deserves credit for this. I’m not sure there are many managers/players/employees who would choose to go unpaid to help their club.

I agree that he will do his popularity no harm with this gesture, but it is a welcome gesture none the less and I agree with Yngwie that he deserves credit for this.

Well done Dunc.
Not the first time.

When we were getting to the business end of last season the club couldn’t afford overnight accommodation for the team on an away game.

guess who paid for it out of his own pocket.

Overnight accommodation for where ???? A Championship now league 1 club in Scotland. Hardly huge distances to travel for a draw !! Talk about living outside of the means of the club. Get your money in to crowdfund this unnecessary expense!

You have obviously never played the game. Try sitting on a bus to say Ayr, for over 4 hours and then play.

When we were in the top league most of the away teams stayed in the kingmills the night before.

I play golf and our 10th green is a couple of yards from the hotel. I have spoken to jim Goodwin on the Saturday when the players go out to stretch their legs. Dunfermline players standing across the burn watching us putt. Celtic coaches and players walking past the tee. Etc, etc

Why is it an unnecessary expense when dunc payed for it.

Come on Gazza son, Just go to an ATM and get a mini statement. You were probably paid in the last few days 🙊

You’re raging 😂

You can’t even credit someone when doing something good. Regardless of how everyone feels about him as a manager, this is a great gesture.

fair play to him for doing that, now if he can only swallow the rest of his pride and speak to potential mentors in the game who might help him become a good manager, he might stand a chance of turning things around.

You’re right, I have never played the game. I work in the NHS. I think the travel time to Ayr is under 4 hrs. In the D&E coach the club use with cooking facilities, tables, reclining seats, toilet etc, hardly a hardship. Pre match meal, play the game , back up the road with food on the coach. Not exactly a hard shift. Doesn’t seem to enhance their performance, regardless who is paying!

I’m not sure there’s many clubs that have performed well while struggling financially and ending up in administration.

No ones turning this around this season and It’s damage limitation now.

You should have stopped at the bit never played the game. I travelled through the night a couple of weeks ago from inverness to Glasgow airport. It took me 3 hours 45 due to a quick pit stop at broxden and road works at Kingussie. Still have to add on airport to Ayr time.

Back in the day I played a wee bit. We would get a mini bus from inverness to county, or to Elgin. Against clach or jags wasn't a problem. The fist 2 we would be out on the park half hour before the game getting the bus out of our legs. Then stretching in the dressing room. Ah the good old days always playing under the lights.

I,ll stop & start where I like. You seem such an expert as you played a wee bit back in the day. I will leave it there.

A tremendous gesture no matter what anyone says. You can see a sadness in his eyes in his pre match interview, hopefully that inspires a “dogs of war” attitude as IHE would say.

Against All Odds? Aye, that saying hasn’t ever been more relevant.
