1st Division (one year only!).

Just an observation, Brew and Elvis played together for a season in Division 1 before Brew headed to Greece.

Steven Pressley..........................He was transferred to English side Coventry City in 1994 for ?630,000. He only lasted a year in England, where he had problems with his form and disciplinary record, before returning to Scotland with Dundee United for a fee of ?750,000. He helped United to promotion back to the Scottish Premier League in his first season, followed by a third place finish in the top flight in season 1996-97.

Craig Brewster.........In 1993, Brewster returned to Dundee United, signing for the Tannadice club for a fee of ?250,000. After a slow start in which he struggled to adapt to Premier Division football, Brewster's first season at Tannadice culminated in his greatest moment as a player, scoring the winner for United in the 1994 Scottish Cup Final against Rangers. However, the club was relegated a year later. Brewster helped them towards promotion back to the top flight in 1995?96, scoring four goals in one match against Dumbarton, but when his contract expired at the end of the season he decided to further his career elsewhere.

My personal view is that relegation will be a disaster if it happens. Certainly in some games this season we have looked relegation material but equally we have still played some good football and I include Sunday's first 60 minutes. First Division football is very competitive and there are some fine players in that league including quite a few at Partick. However, playing in the SPL is special given the opposition, their grounds, TV coverage and press and other angles.

As has been said Hibs are the one and only team ever to have gone straight back up. If we were relegated we'd stay down. The league is so tight that teams build up over three or four seasons to win it. Financially I dont think we could stay a full time team. The fanbase is too small. We couldn't keep paying the wages we do. Small though they may be.

Interesting to read today that Partick Thistle may have to go part-time next season as they cannot attract enough supporters to break even. Apparently there average crowd is 2,500 with 3,500 being the required figure. We would certainly struggle to reach those numbers without the OF and Aberdeen games to inflate our attendances :rotflmao:

Which team was the last to be relegated from the top league in Scotland then promoted back the next year and when?

Hibs cant remember the season 92/93 maybe?

Relegated in 1998 returned in 1999 when it was SFL Premier league of 10 teams.

Dunfermline Athletic were the last team to do it about 1999 ish

We're not going down

Still got half a season to go

Once we get a new manager a new Defender & quality striker we're Sorted !
