I have estimated from secondary data on live events/football/population/ (happy to elaborate...) that of the Inverness population, ICT realistically has a pool of 25,000 who have any interest in football. Of that, how many would attend a game is harder to measure, but in Denmark it's 20-30% who have at attended at least one live sports event  - so very top end 7500  - but in England 5-18% for football games, so 4000 for football specifically.  Some of those would be drawn away by rival teams but that's where my secondary data dropped off!  Very rough accounting btw, but I'd wager it's within 3000-5000 range that could be realistically at games.

It's been a while since I looked at it, but ICTFC had one of the highest % of population figures for any club in Scotland.

That's not to say that there's not room for growth, there always is, but what we can't afford to do is shift so much resource into chasing small margins that we end up neglecting and losing the existing fan base.

In fact, when it comes to such matters, there's very good argument to be made in favour of almost solely concentrating on your existing fanbase and allowing their positive experience to work as the attraction to draw in new fans.

Some football agent / itk Twitter account has said that we have Grant Nelson, Rangers striker, on trial.  It's also been reported on one of these accounts that we tried to sign Mitch Megginson from Cove Rangers but he decided to stay there.  Apparently Premiership teams were interested in him but he'd rather stay in the Highland League.

Nelson is a wide right midfielder / "winger" - Was out for almost 18 months before returning to action in late April. Only 19 so worth having a look.

Some mod with editing skills might want to move the discussion developing here regarding crowd figures to it's own thread, in the meantime here are my 2 cents. 80% of fans attending games couldn't name anyone on the board, and couldn't care less about social media or engagement. They just care about what's going on on the pitch. It's just the hardcore fans who have strong views on this stuff IMO.

The biggest obstacles preventing Inverness from attracting higher crowds are:

1) The stadium. It's location is picturesque, the architects blueprints looked spectacular, and at the time of it's construction - the area was hyped for future 'high value' developments taking place around it. In reality, it was a total white elephant. Situated on the outskirts of an industrial estate, miles away from residential areas, a 'community hub' it ain't. The facilities in the stadium put most local community centres to shame, but are barely used outside match days - being, as they are, in the middle of nowhere. This is the primary source of lack of 'engagement' with the community IMO. Were TCS located at Telford Street or Kingsmills Park (both disadvantageous for different reasons), I imagine it would be a very different story.

2) Ticket prices. Attending Caley and Thistle games in the 90s was easily affordable for your average working class family. Today it's simply unaffordable for those on lower wages. This might be pie in the sky, but some kind of socialist system for season tickets (take ID and your P60 to the ticket office to prove your wage) might help in this regard, and get the club some positive publicity.

To summarize the solutions are:

Accessability - A stadium situated within the community, with facilities available, open and easy to book for the community.
Affordability - A price structure that allows individuals and families of all income levels to attend matches.

100% OF ICT fans could name the county chairman!!!     We also would like a Brooks sorry Roy to 'lose  £1M a year into our club.

Fact is we are possibly looking at another battle between Sutherland and Savage with MM crew in the middle.
