Was also at the Falkirk cup game when it went ahead at the 27th attempt, got the belt from Baillie next day as was seen on the telly at the game! Also team I most hate in the world is probably Livi, formerly Meadowbank, formerly Ferranti Thistle. Cause they got one more vote to get admitted into the league when Thistle were a team and a half. Unbeaten in whole league season until last half hour of last game, mind you the league had been won ages before we lost. Remember Jimmy Calder as a striker too. Roshie, Milroy, Tichy, Lofty, Guyan, Wad, etc

Excellent resume of the 70s (and a bit beyond) which were a golden era for the Jaggies from the moment King Willie arrived in 1971-72 - paid for with ?150 which Jock borrowed from 15 different people including his father and himself paid ?3 a week.

A question. The Thistle team which won the League in 87 went undefeated until the very last game at Peterhead. But from what you say there, was the Jags side which also won (retained) it in 73 (the year Ferranti got into the SFL), in the same position?

One small correction - the Falkirk Cup tie in 1979 went ahead at the 30th attempt. It was postponed 29 times.

Jimmy Calder as striker! Wonderful days! He was substitute striker at Celtic Park in 1985!

Must remind Baillie next time I see him what a miserable old git he was!

Interesting use of the past tense Charles. Is Colin Baillie no longer a miserable git ?
