brew would never play three at the back from the beginning, plus i doubt he will start wilson after not offering him another 6months. vigurs has to play as well, he is our best player away from home along with black.

Esson

Proctor Duff Munro Hasting

Cowie Black Duncan Vigurs Imrie

After the shocker Proctor had on saturday, i would not be surprised if Brew kept him in the middle of defence again! and kept Duff at right back.. Brewster has a really stubborn streak that will prevent him from making changes despite the formation not working, and saturdays team did not work.

I agree plus he says he has no problems about playing Duff there again in today's P&J.

This will be my first away game in a long time and I'm looking forward to seeing our away tactics working first hand. The novelty of seeing us winning a game might be nice as well. Bet I jinx the team :rotflmao:

I like the look of 5th stands team selection, although playing duff and hastings on the opposite flanks may be better.

or

maybe we should scrap these types of threads as Brew will do his own thing anyway.

bah, humbug.

I've just read that. What a bizarre thing to say. Brewster must have missed Conway turning in a MotM performance against a defender really struggling to get to grips with his role in that position. Uniteds threats on Saturday came, 9 out of 10 times, from a crossed ball and it was the wingers, Conway in particular, who were having a field day against our (stand in) backs.

If St. Mirren have a good left winger then Duff could be in trouble again.

The tactics that served us so well in the away wins i've seen this season (Aberdeen, Killie and Hibs) won't necessarily work against St. Mirren. Those teams were a bit arrogant, throwing men forward and allowing Imrie and Cowie far too much space on the counter. St. Mirren, sitting just a point off the bottom and having beaten us at TCS while creating just two chances, will be far more cagey.

I'd like:

Esson

Proctor - Duff - Munro - Hastings(lets face it he'll never get dropped)

-Duncan-

Cowie - Black - Vigurs - Imrie

-Rooney/Wood

we'll get:

Brewster

:rotflmao:

I really dont give much of a damn because he'll once again play people in stupid positions when there are better available to play there.. He'll chop and change. No way Barrowman will start up front for 2 games in a row.(not totally bothered about that. How often do we have a regular strike force though?)

Then he'll blame it all on us for being too demanding away from home.

Esson gk

Proctor rb

Hastings lb

Munro cb

Duff cb

Cowie rm

Imrie lm

Black cm

Duncan cm

Vigurs cm

Rooney fc

Rooney to score the winner, 2-1 to us.

Pretty much the same as me then. And i reckon with that we would have a decent chance. However expect Duff and Proctor to swap and switch wings for Cowie and Imrie and play Wood and you'll be inside Brewsters head.

expect brewster to play himself in every position, and lose 45-2. Then expect him to come out after the game (possibly literally) and state that "we played well in the first half, then i f*cked up the players confidence and morale with my boring speech. After that, we lost the goals and the game. Thats the way football goes, eh"

I would personally go for :

-------------Esson---------------

Proctor--Duff--Munro--Hastings

Cowie--Duncan--Black--Imrie

---------Rooney--Wood---------

I think Brewster will go for :

-------------Esson----------------

Duff--Proctor--Munro--Hastings

------------Vigurs----------------

Imrie--Black--Duncan--Cowie

-------------Wood---------------

Then again, who knows he may go for :

------------Wood------------------

Vigurs--Black--Imrie--Cowie

Hastings--Duff--Proctor--Duncan

-------Munro--Esson-----------

After all that would give us a big guy in goal, 2 big target men up front who we could just punt the ball up to. Who needs height at the centre of defence? not us "we'll make up for the lack of height with our pace"! 2 holding midfielders in the middle, sounds like the ideal team, as Brewster has said when quizzed about his formations " A good player can play anywhere".

To be serious though I know Brewster would never pick this team - he would never start with 2 up away from home :rotflmao:

i think we need to bulk up our defence more than anything, even with tokely we really dont have anyone big and physical. So rather than playing two wide defenders we should just play 3 defenders who'll sit deep and just clear the danger and the two wide central midfielders should drop back in behind the wingers and do the running back. So i think even though its a bit mental djebi zabi should play at left defence.

--------------------------------Esson------------------------------

-------------------------tokely Munro Djebi Zabi-----------------

-----------cowie------- black--- vigurs--- duncan------ imrie-----

-------------------------rooney--------- barrowman

(sorry for bad diagram)
