Fixtures before the split

There are now 11 fixtures remaining before the split - one against all the 11 other teams (6 Home - 5 Away).

You would have to say that apart from the Celtic game then 3 points from each of those other 5 home games (Hibs, Motherwell, Kilmarnock, St.Mirren and Hamilton) should not normally be beyond us.

Biggest problem is that the next three games (Hearts (A), Celtic (H) and Utd (A)) are quite a challenge with the current state of affairs that may knock the last remaining wind out of our sails before we have our big home games.

No points from these 3 fixtures would be disastrous but if the club (players and management) really need a challenge then this is it - their backs are now firmly against the wall.

Here's hoping that the Dundee Utd game is when the romance finally returns after good results (and performances) against Hearts and Celtic and doesn't turn out to be a St. Valentine's Day Massacre but even my half full pint glass is starting to look a tad empty now....
