So here's the million dollar questions: Why are we so damn inconsistent and how do we correct it?

I think if we'd made changes earlier it wouldve made a difference

I agree. Imrie & Eric should have been on at 70 mins, not 89.

As for Imrie, what an idtiot...no need for that tackle

A major factor for me is that there is no leader on the park whatsoever. That and the fact, that the ICT defence is shakey at best is an influence, along with there being no big centre back in the form of Mann or Dods in there.

Noticed the Dundee fans throwing something at our players after the 2nd goal. Shame they had to resort to that

I think we witnessed a championship winning team in the 1st half...2nd half we witnessed the usual ICT

Don't worry, it was only pie.

Watched on the Alba channel. It was a custard cream biscuit!

First half was superb, so many chances, best I've seen the players play for a long time. Second half, I just don't think they recovered after the double whammy, started sitting back more, weather conditions got worse making play harder, players tiring. Don't know why Terry waited SO long to put on subs.

Why did so many of our fans leave before the end? I really hoped we could get a injury time equaliser and then win on penalties just to get back at these people. I have a very low tolerance of people who don't stay until the final whistle.

I really think that the bull shouldnt be playing on the back like, but if you watch him going forward and in the mid he plays a good ball, and he is hard as, no push over... humm i hope we keep him and stick him in that roll.

Watching on the TV, it was one of the best games of football ive watched in a long time, yes we lost, our down side in the second half is they stepped up and changed and we couldnt conter the change, and our subs IMO were wrong and to late.. but over all the guys (not including Imire) did me atleast proud, Duncan the hot head needs to wind his neck in but over all we had 11 players playing good football. Thanks guy i really did enjoy the game..

Yes they stepped up, and we could have continued to out play them if we'd played the ball on the deck like we were in the first half instead of this crappy route one that we seem so determined to play!

The pitch in places was like a tattie field by the second half, so I don't think it was as easy to do that.

Spot on....

Particularly galling to note Dods scoring a last minute winner for D.Utd against Celtic.

If only he was still here....

Not a good enough excuse for me. Dundee didn't have any problems knocking the ball about. The only time's they played a long ball was when they saw Tokely out of place and there was room for Griffiths to chase the ball in behind our defence.

All he needed to say to them at half time was.... "We've got them well and truly beat here.... just give me the same again for the next 45 mins"

Taken Sanchez off was madness. TB did exactly the same thing at Partick Thistle in this competition. We had them well beaten by half time, but let them back into the game thanks to his tactical changes.

Butcher the master tactician .............. the man's a fool and should go back south.

Why does he persist in playing people on the wrong wing, in the wrong position?

WTF was he playing at making two subs in the 89th minute - what a prize *****!

What does Foran have over him?

Ditch the loser before it's too late!

(That said, when you lose in this one - it's a diddy cup)

Can't add very much to that. Enjoyed the day out, possibly the best game of the season so far.. Think the whole world was in the Tulloch institute. Saw virtually every ICT fan I've ever met.

Should have been at least 4-0 at ht and then we could have sent out some traffic cones to defend for 45 mins.

Instead we can't even play it tight for 15 mins. Has Butcher ever done better than the opposition manager after half time? Does he just shout at the players cos tactically he seems to be a dud.

When they scored the first I realised what Ayr felt like when we beat them 4-3.

Georgeios get a grip, wee Russell was immense today!

Why didn't Rooney look up and square it!!!!

Did Imrie get a straight red for the challenge, nothing else?

Why was everybody leaving with 5 mins left? We were asking them where the fire was.

A bit hard to take at full time especially with the coagies singing '2-0 and you fecked it up'.

the ball was dying when played on the ground was heavy and cut up

Very VERY hard to take that one. I have some Dundee supporting mates, ive switched my phone off. Takes a bit to come to terms with something like that, dont need winded up about it.

Not that i meant to, but my mind was wandering at half time, thinking if we give another 45 mins like that then ill get to see them lift the cup, so on , so forth. Then disaster struck.

I do feel alot of the blame on Butcher though. Sanchez off - our most tactically minded player, who was creating most, off for Cox who added nothing. Then brings on Odi and Imrie in the 90th? I really couldnt belive the time it was when i saw that, truly ridiculous!! Hayes put his all in the first, he wasnt getting the ball or the runs in the 2nd, Imrie could have changed that with his engine!!

But even though i dont give us much chance of the league, id happily give them that cup for the 3 points in the league. Onwards and upwards.....

I know we lost but what a great day out, Everything about ICT in the first half was absolutely brilliant if we can play that well for 90 minutes in the league week in week out then we are back in the SPL without a doubt.

Thats the best Ive seen ICT play since I cant remember when. Cant wait for round 4 of the Scottish cup.

Great football, near full stadium, TV coverage and a good day out. pity about the cup bit but all the players were really good and that lifts my spirits with regards to climbing the league.

Mantis, maybe watching it on tv gives a differnet outlook on it, but having a little brother who speaks the tounge telling me what the guy was saying, "Duncan is making his feeling known to Tokley for that last ball??" is what the guy said when Rossco put the ball out so that one of the Dundee lads could get a hand from the sexy physio for example leads me to say hes a wee hot head.. i didnt say he was pish today just a hot head.....

Did Imrie get a straight red for the challenge, nothing else?

yes i guess so, but he was very smug about the whole thing and took ages strolling of the pitch.. disgrace.

At the end of the day Caley played great football but didn't get the breaks. No Dundee fan could have complained had we been 5-0 up at half time. Overall we'll win against that lot far more often than we'll lose, especially if we take our chances and keep our best players on the pitch (cough).

Play like this every week (perhaps defending a little better ) and we'll win the league. How many points did we drop today? How many points did Dundee gain today? Zero. This was the sideshow, the main event is what matters.

If I have one moan from the game it's that we seriously need to review our options at left-back. Golabeck is Highland league standard and isn't going to get any better. It's time to give somebody else a chance.

The 1st half was the greatest half of football i have seen from a Caley side in years. It was perfect. We could have easily been 5-0 up and why didn't the Bul's first goal count??? Hayes, Sandshoes, Foran and Rooney kicked the crap out of Dundee in the 1st half.

The 2nd half was a crash down to our usual ways. Abysmal at the back, crappy punts forward to nowhere and Tokely getting caught ball watching at diagonal passes. The first 2 goals were extremely avoidable while the 3rd from where i was sitting looked offside.

Terrible result and in the end terrible afternoon of football but it was great ti be there with loads of fans i knew and the 1st half was a sign that we have what it takes to do well this year. Just have to learn to keep it going for 90 minutes.

Keep the faith.
