After reading a topic on the P&B site, i wondered what everyones preference was to the Old Firm, as everyone on the site thinks it is the blue side.

Im not asking here for people to come out 'no one but caley thistle' and all this tripe, if you have a preference stick it in the poll. Describe why if you please.

I was brought up on Rangers all my life, the whole family as Rangers-daft, but when ICT was formed and having been born in Inverness and lived in Tomatin before coming to Cowdenbeath, this was to be my one and only team.

But when it comes to the SPL title, obviously because ICT arent up there id rather see Rangers than Celtic nab it. Please dont shoot me down for this guys, its only a question im intrigued on the answer to.

My 2p.

Where did i say anywhere in tha post that people have an Old Firm preference? i said IF YOU DO!! how hard is it? And as highlighted, IF YOU DO have a preference stick it in the poll, dont come on here and say neither because thats not what im asking. That easy enough to understand now its broken down like that?

Cheers to the people who did understand and stuck their option in the poll. Intersting viewing.

Didn't even bother reading most of this topic ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Why do in Scotland people presume that you have to either support on of the OF or at least have leanings or a favourite out of the two of them. How about I couldnt give a flying feck about either of them equally. Why not start a poll on who do you prefer Albion Rovers or Forfar Athletic becasue that would just be as relevant to me as this one.

To be fair to the opening post, he asks who people prefer, not who they support.

I hate both of them, but if Rangers were playing Celtic I would rather Celtic lost, rather than Rangers winning, but in all honesty I don't give a flying fork.

Living in Paisley its frustrating when people say "so who do you support?" and i say "Inverness Caley Thistle" and their reply to that is "Aye but Rangers or Celtic?" I've lived here for a couple years now and i've yet to meet a St. Mirren fan. Why don't people support their local teams anymore?

My dad raised me liking Rangers, and when i was 6 i watched Rangers for the first time and enjoyed it. However my dad was also an Inverness Caley fan and took me along to see ICT against County one game and this is when i started supporting them. In my teens i realised there wasn't enough room to like Rangers and ICT and as we had just been promoted to the First Division i dropped Rangers. I now hate both sides of the OF with a passion and can't imaging how i used to even feel something for a club like Rangers when i was a boy.

These days i still want the OF to do well in Europe but absolutely love it when they are beaten by anyone else.

ANyone who has watched us play at Ibrox or Parkhead and still says they have a 'favoured' OF team needs sectioned. Old Firm fans are the biggest bunch of underclass, trampy minks I've ever laid my eyes on. The only reason they latch onto their club is the prospect of constant success which distracts them from their impoverished, miserable existence, mainly consisting of benefit fraud, drug abuse and incestual sex.

They are absolute scumbags.

Can't stand either but this year, I hope Rangers walk it. Celtic trying to blame referees for their poor form and bad signings is scandalous. The fact is, Mowbray can't organise a defence, has sold good players, brought in similar or worse and would actually be far far behind Rangers but for Robbie Keane - not even one his signings, rather a fancy by the Board!

I've not heard any Celtic fan mention how referees are so poor Hinkel should have been sent off and a penalty against him for the last Old Firm game, or how Robbie Keane should have had another booking (meaning a red card) for deliberately time-wasting as he poked the ball into the net after being given off-side, or how Boruc should have had at least a penalty against him when taking down an Aberdeen player in the 4-4 game...and that's only two teams, not even mentioning the games against St Mirren or Falkirk for example. Celtic get their share of decisions. Any right minded person can see that.

So this year, I'm more anti-Celtic than anti-Rangers (so I've not voted). Overall, I'd still prefer Hibs or Dundee Utd (or anyone else) to somehow win the league. Given the current financial climate, there's the best chance of that since Jefferies was first at Hearts (not a huge chance but a chance nevertheless).

I can't stand either of them, I really can't. The bulk of their supporters (and, in many cases, it's a lot of bulk) seem to be a pretty good representative sample of scum. The clubs themselves have much to answer for in running the league down for their benefit. I dislike their dominance and resent the attention that they take away from the other teams.

Having said all of that, I really hope Celtic go on a good cup run!

Its not the clubs that I dislike its the numpties that follow them and the 'watch yer car fea ye mr' D##k heads.

You get that in any big city though...

Years ago I remember my Dad taking me to see Leeds at West Brom. Even back then, plenty of kids were wanting money to 'look after' the car.

That reminds me of the one about the Embra business man who went to Ibrox to take in a fixture with his beloved jambos.

Parking his top of the range 4x4 he was assailed by the "watch yer car" brigade, making the usual demands.

He explained to the street urchins, their services weren't required, while pointing to a slavering, snarling rotweiller sitting in the front seat of his 4x4.

"He'll watch my car, thank you," he informed the scruffs.

"Haw mister" shouted one, as he walked away...

"Can yer dug blaw up tyres?"

Aye, thats why I was slightly embarassed by this to be honest. I'm in no way criticising the OP as he's just looking for a discussion. But the topic seems to assume everyone does indeeed support one of the OF.

I don't think it suggests or implies everyone 'supports' one of the Old Firm, but as in most either/or scenarios people often have a preference.

True. But it's like asking whether you would prefer to have typhoid or cholera. Both options make you sick.

I'd rather die i think if they were my options

Im i the only one thats big enuff to admit that my links with Celtic are longer established than with ICT? My view is thus....If ICT cant win comepetitions, then my next favoured choice would be Celtic to win it! And al wager that at least 60-70% of this forum users had a big team before ICT came into being.....but it seems that Rangers and Celtic are the ones singled out to be wrong to have any sort of link to

I remember being at TCS a few years ago and when the half time scores were read out half the ICT fans would cheer if Rankers were winning and the other half would cheer if Celtc were winning . A lot of selective memories on this site !

That is a rediculous post. Get your head checked. Thats the same as saying all Germans are supporters of the German National Socialist Workers Party. Im not just saying this because i am favoured towards Celtic, but how can you just say that all the Old Firm fans are like that? If anything, you are making yourself look a real tool. if you are so sure you are better than them, then act it by not attatching stereotypes.
