ICT vs Dundee Utd Security

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know what happened to that security guy from our last home game? Was any action taken?

As I heard from several sources(including other security staff) that it is not the first time he has kicked off for trivial reasons.

I should note the other security staff tackled a tricky situation rather well.

For anyone wondering why the security guard felt the need to give the young lad in the North Stand hassle, he took issue to the fan wearing a scarf and hood on his head whilst sitting quietly in the stand.(it was a cold day and the young team there where not causing any trouble)  When he refused to remove the scarf the security guard threatened to throw the fan out, at which point I stood up and approached the security staff member pointing out it was cold and the fan was doing nothing wrong.

He then threatened to throw me out of the stadium for defending the young lad, I told him to calm down and the security teams supervisor came over and calmly removed the security staff member from the location he was working and replaced him with another.

I'm not one to call for people to lose jobs or anything, and I am not suggesting that, but I seriously hope he was at least given a proper talking to as I was visibly shaking with anger when he threatened throwing me out for defending a fan and asking him to use his head.

I obviously don't know the circumstances but doubt if the fact that you were 'visibly shaking with anger' helped matters.

Didn't help matters? I didn't say i was being abusive or anything, the point I was making was I clearly didn't appreciate the threat of being chucked out for defending a young fan who had done nothing wrong.

Considering security thanked me for my help in the situation, as did the fan in question, I think i definitely did help matters. ;)

I didn't get his security number, however the security I spoke to where more than familiar with who it was so I am sure they could easily inform the club if asked. It was the security supervisor who removed the security staff member.

Like I said, the rest of the security team did an excellent job. They always do when i attend matches.

Incidents like this go a long way in explaining our plummeting attendances.

but not as far as the far too often unentertaining and unsuccessful football

How entertaining our football is appears to have little bearing on our attendances. We played some wonderful stuff last year, the most attractive and entertaining style we've ever had, and yet our attendances this year haven't improved and may have dropped.

I'm just trying to imagine a similar thread contributed to by Eden Court patrons outraged at the behaviour of the usherettes (or shall I appease the Serially Offended by calling them "front of house staff"?) Or "Offensive Behaviour In Theatres" legislation.

The steward was a total ****. The sort of person who's looking for trouble when none there? He'd not last 30 seconds at Eden Court lol

Sorry to hear you were Shaking Michaels, did the steward try and show you the Green door.

Now listen, I've sent a letter to you, I had a cry just a little bit, there were teardrops and its breaking up my heart, this ole house can't accept these bullies, you drive me crazy, there's no turning away.

Oh Julie is coming, if you want a love worth waiting for, we'll have a little boogie woogie, with Shirlie too as soon as she gets her lipstick, powder and paint on, she likes a hotdog or 3. It's late, so thought it would be a rocking good way to finish up with.

We're the best in the Highlands glory ICT.
