Donald Park to Dunfermline?

Donald Park has been offered managers positions in the past (even ours).  He has never shown any interest in being a manager, he seems to enjoy the work, but not the limelight.  My only concern is that is Robbo takes one of these soon to be vacant jobs, he might be persuaded to move as assistant.  I hope not as he is a major part of our success.

Donald's got much more sense than to contemplate moving anywhere......

He's been in a very good position to observe exactly what has happened to all those that have moved on from here, thinking they were making a great career move......

Ignore The Highland Curse & die.... :evil09: :evil09:

Notwithstanding the fact that this rumour was broken by Chick Young, I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand.

I understand that Park's family home remains in Edinburgh so that the short commute over the Forth Bridge must have a certain allure compared to the journey to Inverness.

However, he probably has the good sense to realise that his job security ould diminish to a greater extent than his journey to work.

costs from about 50 quid each way, and only takes 45 minutes each way (somewhat ironic) - cant get from one side of Inverness to the other in less time than that on some days !!! - wont double post this in the Darren dods thread, but the same information applies !!!

If travel is such an issue, and players keep quoting geography as a reason not to come to the club then perhaps the club should look at building in a 'few' travel expenses over the course of a year for players in certain situations (ie with family at home) - flights are dirt cheap if you search hard enough and dont use travel agents.

Charlie is quoted in today's Press and Journal as saying that he's spoken to DP about the rumours and that  he is happy and settled in Inverness.

Dunfermline are poised to confirm Derry City boss Stephen Kenny as their new manager.

The 35-year-old, who guided the Brandywell club to UEFA Cup wins over Gothenburg and Gretna this season, is set to take over at East End Park when the Irish season ends in a month.

Dunfermline chairman John Yorkston told the Daily Record: "We are waiting for a fax from Derry City to confirm that Stephen will become our new manager. Until then we cannot say anything.

"The last thing we would want to do is announce something only for there to be a last-minute change."

Apparently that's "a done deal" but they're gonna have to wait until maybe mid-december for Stephen Kenny to turn up because of Derry City being in the Irish cup final in December.

Chick wasn't too far off. At least the guy he mentioned came from the same continent, if not the right country  :016:
