I've heard all of the talks about new contracts being dished out but isn't it about time that charlie gets Barry in to offer him at least another year. We can see by the Falkirk game that he's worth it as he is an important part of the midfield that we can't replace at the moment.

Todays Herald

"A number of players, including Craig Dargo, Darren Dods, Mark Brown and Barry Wilson will become free agents at the end of the season and could leave for nothing. He said: "I will speak to every player who is out of contract by the middle of next week and then it will be in the hands of the players themselves and their agents to decide if they want to accept the offers made to them.""

Barry has indicated in the past that he wants to move into coaching when he retires from playing so I would suspect that any renewed contract will be for X amount of time playing with an option to extend playing if he is still up to it or to move into a coaching role.

Either way I think ICT will be his first choice and I'm not too worried about him wanting away to anywhere else.

Barry's contract is a rolling one year deal reviewed before the start of each season. Provided he still has the urge and fitness he'll always have a job. I was speaking to him last year when he was injured and he was confident that he would be able to stay competitive for a few years yet. I think Brewster inspired him to stay in shape. I believe he is also very much involved with youth coaching and doing his badges at the moment which will see him in good stead to step into a coaching role in the next year or two, be it with us or elsewhere.
