A slice of 400k to be exact. Of course we all know we will see the least amount given our size and the size of Inverness but every little helps and all that...

JACK McConnell, the First Minister, yesterday announced £400,000 for Scotland's top 12 football clubs to help keep young people not in education, employment or training off the streets.

Programmes run by Scottish Premier League clubs already help at least 2,500 young people every year. It is hoped the new funding, along with money from local authorities and the clubs themselves, will at least double that amount.

Mr McConnell said football clubs are in a unique position to persuade young men and women who have rejected school to take part in training through offering courses at their famous clubs. Courses include communication skills, computer training, confidence building and work skills.

He said: "Footballers, football clubs have an attraction for these youngsters and I believe that we have got a very special opportunity here to kick-start these young lives in a way that gives them communication skills, teamwork skills, turning up on time skills, that will stay with them whatever line of work they pursue in future."

What rubbish women some of you guys pick up! I'm sure the ones who arrive on time and take less than half an hour to get ready wouldn't look twice at the likes of you!  :023:
