Get Off His Back, Lionel Is A Legend

I see the P&J have also got it wrong as well:-

left-back Lionel Djebi-Zadi also played well at Pittodrie and will be confident of retaining his place when Billy Reid's side travel north.

The Frenchman made a number of timely blocks and clearances, including one spectacular overhead kick out of his own penalty area in the first period, he does use his speed and strength to good effect.

Oh look, I have used selective quoting as well

No I agree with most of that - I have always supported Lionels' strengths but his "wild unpredictability" does not augur well to play him in games when our SPL future is on the line - To me you go fer the experience and the reliability in that instance - I agree that Hastings does not exactly tick those boxes but McBain would have - I fear that it may be too late to effect the changes - until Lionel unpredictably fecks up - I m shure I am not alone in wincing when he is on the ball.

McBain does not have the presence that Lionel possesses, or the height or the speed. He does have awareness, but that may not be enough, that is why Lionel must play out the season.

We can discuss it next week over a large voddie, unless of course you are off the drink, olde git.

are you sure it's shure and not sure?

Lionel could play all night long and still not impress some posters, he makes the simple aspect of defending look easy. He was overheard telling Maurice Malpas, it's "my destiny" to keep Ict in the premier league and i truly believe he means it. I hope Lionel can keep his endless love affair with Ict going and sail on into our teams history as our best ever left back. Still.

I predict that Lionel will keep his place and soon be attracting attention from the Championship and the Old Firm. Laugh now IHE, but you'll soon have egg on your face. Were you one of the Howden Enders who ridiculed Alan Smart? The guy who ended up scoring the winning goal at Wembley that promoted Watford to the Premiership? :rotflmao:

He's white, He's blue, He doesn't have a clue.

I remember singing that in the Jail End just before Smart smacked the ball into the top corner. He was still a **** though.

I wouldn't be surprised because he is an eye catching player, especially when he is galloping forward but he is murder at defending. The most important thing about any defender (feel free to argue) is consistency and the only thing that Zadi has done consistently is make mistakes. He definitely gave the squad a lift with some superb performances and I was happy to see him get a run in the team but we aren't scoring enough to be unreliable at the back... especially when we have so little games to fight for a place in the SPL next season.

True and the same posters seem to be blaming poor wee Lionel for everything...............on Earth! I've heard recently heard that Lionel was responsiblr for both global warmingn and the rise of Hitler.

Is he related to Sol Bamba one wonders? :rotflmao:

Why cause they're both black?

Why cause they're both black?

No. Their somewhat 'eccentric' styles of play and defending especially are incredibly similar

but they are both black as well.

They are indeed and your point is....?
