Problems With Hotmail/yahoo Mail

I have been having problems with logging in on several sites and email sites since I reinstalled XP. I have internet preferences set to accept cookies but I keep being told my addy or password is wrong when I know it's right (I can log in at work). I've tried firefox and IE 8

Any suggestions gratefully accepted.
