This is ridiculous...what kind of democratic system allows the delay of a vote because someone knows they aren't going to get the outcome they want?

Where's the independence referendum Salmond promised? :ponder:

Did anyone see the slimy creep Doncaster during the Saint Johnstone v Rangers game last night? He was trying to spin some stats that apparently showed that the majority of Scottish football fans were keen for the 10 team set up. He appeared to seize upon the fact that in a recent poll 2% of fans wanted the set up to stay as it is claiming this was sure fire proof that a move to a 10 team top division is what the majority wanted clearly overlooking the fact that whilst 98% of fans polled wanted change the exact change that they asked for wasn't mentioned.

Horrible person.

Only thing more dangerous than Doncaster trying to push through the 10 team proposal is the fact that he doesn't seem to realise or accept just how opposed to it the majority of people are....if ever their was a case of someone being in denial, this is it.

BBC reporting that it is likely that the vote is cancelled re reconstruction due to not having enough support to get it through. Lobbying clubs to change their minds will continue however. :irritated:

BBC reporting that Annabel Goldie has cancelled the Scottish Election on May 5th due to not having enough support to become First Minister. Lobbying the electorate to change their minds will continue however.

ROFLMAO! Bet they would if they could! At least Doncaster doesn't expect them to vote interminably until they get it right, like the EU does!

But I have to agrre with CaleyD......sensible ideas are sensible ideas which should not require the additional and compulsory acceptance of a ludicrous and previously proven bad idea to be put into effect.. Smacks of blackmail, imo.

And it begs the question....is Scottish football run mainly for the benefit of the investors in Rangers and Celtic...and other "top" teams which think they, like the banks, "are too big to fail", even if they have been playing silly buggers with their finances.......rather than for the good of Scottish Football as a whole......because that is definitely the impression being given.

The difference is that Salmond was elected to represent the Scottish people. If surveys indicate a vote would not be successful it would be a waste of our money so that would indicate he is looking after our interests. We also get a chance to change the Scottish Executive/First Minister every four years.

Back on topic. Doncaster must be allowed to leave with his head held high. Donate here

Doncaster tells us that more games between the OF will make things more exciting. The SFA tell us that if OF fans, players and management keep misbehaving they will be forced to play those games behind closed doors. I predict a disaster on the horizon.

And if he means at only the two parks of Ibrox and Parkhead, then how will that be exciting for any other club? And, just to mention a really trivial matter, in what way would it benefit ICT or any other club in the SPL? For goodness sake!

If these remarks are actually truly attributed to Mr Doncaster then I don't know how long he will be able to keep his current position. From all the stuff I have read,, this man has few leadership skills, no common sense and just can't get his head out of the sand. :notlistening:

1933: Nathan Currie tweets using the hashtag #bbcsportsound: "Great to hear that the 10 team SPL is dead. Lets push for a 16 and get some of the bigger 1st division clubs up."

I see today that Thompson has said in an interview that the clubs opposing the 10 Team SPL have been receiving threats from other clubs for refusing to conform.

He didn't say who or how, but I imagine it will come out at some point in time.

Would seem the "threats" are that if a 10 Team SPL is not approved then they'll form a break-away 10 team league (positioned above the SPL) and those against the idea won't be invited to join

Good grief - it's like the Wee Frees all over again . . . slapme.gif

So it is a case of "dae whit we want as we'll gan dae it anywie". Hardly a threat, since without promotion/relegation it would become a bore for the remainder outside the OF who are still not winning it and have nothing to play for except a European spot (if they are lucky enough to still have one) and some cash. Pathetic.

Personally I would be delighted to win the Scottish Championship league every year, just for that authentic Celtic/Rangers experience . . . until it got boring, which it would fairly soon. How do they cope with the boredom? . . . oh, yes, by hating each other and having a false sense of superiority over everyone else.
