The Rangers fans to boycott

From the media it looks as though the fans of The Rangers are going to boycott the cup match at Tannadice against Dundee Utd, reasons seem to vary from delays DU in issuing ticket refunds from years ago when a match was postponed to DU voting against them out of the SPL.

Therefore if and I do mean if they do boycott, would that be seen as a bad situation if we had been hosting them at home and they were to boycott ICT? Would we see a higher number of home fans turning out that stay away for OF games based on the hostility and vulgarity those fans bring?

"How dare you do the right thing and vote against the new version of our team being admitted into the top flight even though we did wrong and owed your team money for a while. For not letting us bully you we aren't going to come to your stadium and sing sectarian bile. WATP!!!!11" I fail to see any disadvantage to Dundee United here.

How come other teams have a Supporters Club but Rangers need to have a Supporters Assembly.

This prompts a question - what is the collective noun for Rangers fans?

eg

A parade of Rangers fans?

An embarrassment of Rangers fans?

Sevco (the club itself) have just announced they will not be accepting their allocation of tickets. Cringeworthy.

Will they be accepting their 50% share of the gate receipts?

That could actually be a very interesting (legal) debate .... Regardless of any boycott by fans organisations, assemblies or lodges, if 'rangers' the club, are not accepting their allocation, and at least attempting to sell them on to those fans who dont wish to boycott, then IMO (humble or not) they should forfeit the right to claim any share of the gate whatsoever. They are refusing to sell them, their fans are threatening to boycott so its a no brainer. DUFC should sell the entire ground to the home support and keep all the money !

As for the collective noun for groups of them (not in Dundee obviously) ..... maybe some of these would be appropriate .... for either the animal or the name (or both)

Bison/Buffalo (gang, herd or obstinacy)

Butterfly (Rabble)

Cockroach (intrusion)

Doves (dole or piteousness)

"A statement from the Rangers Supporters' Assembly read: "The Rangers support has waited patiently for the opportunity to send a clear message to those that tried to destroy our club""

Then look a bit closer to home, you ****wits.

I wonder what would happen if the game ends up a draw and has to be replayed at Ibrox?
they should be allowed to sell the same percentage of their home allocation as they did for the away game!!! So if they sell 100% of their away tickets then they can sell 100% of tickets normally made available to home fans. Sell 0% of their away allocation, then it's 0% of their normal home allocation!!!!

What a pathetic stance from what is fast becoming a laughing stock of a club.

Do these morons not realise that by boycotting United will benefit? Lower stewarding and policing costs and, presumably, 100% of the ticket income given they must surely be forfeiting that under the circumstances. Also, were ICT ever in a similar position that would be a game I'd be pulling out all the stops to get to and show them that as a club we're here to stay, a show of strength if you like.

They really are a ridiculous club nowadays. Never lost any love on them before but even any grudging respect for their achievements is gone following the last few months. The decent minded Rangers fans must be embarrassed and increasingly fed up with it all.
