We'll get that blog pinned/featured or linked somewhere on the site. Will be good to read his progress (hopefully) and to maybe offer support on those days where he feels like crap!

What a truly admirable, thoughtful and brave blog. RESPECT

Couldn't agree more. I think I've learnt more about Christ Hogg - the man, than I've known about Christ Hogg - the player, from those first three entries in his blog. I hope he can gain as much solace, comfort and strength from writing the blog as possible to help him through this.

Respect is due, and unreservedly given.

Is it just me, or does it sound like his career coiuld be over, never mind the season!? :(

With that kind of injury, it is always a possibility.

I am sure the specialist will have given him a worst case scenario and that would be it, whereas Butcher is maybe being overly optimistic .... but then again, TB knows the player far better than the specialist does, and perhaps knows his strength of character and determination better too ....

How often have we seen people (not just footballers) confound the so-called medical experts by coming back from various types of injuries to walk again, or to do whatever it is they've been told they will never do. I firmly believe a lot of it is down to the determination and effort of the patient and if he has the strength of character to push on, then many things are possible ..... Will definitely be checking in on that blog frequently to see how he is progressing and hope the path to recovery is not littered with too many setbacks.

My son has suffered almost exactly the same injury playing rugby out in Dubai just over 2 weeks ago. He has done loads of research already and is unlikely to get the same specialist treatment as Chris, but he has set his mind on playing again at the start of next season out there. He surprised me when he told me how common an injury it is in rugby and how many internationals play again after damaging ACL and MCL. It is a serious injury, but actually very common, probably more so with skiers.

Best wishes for your recovery Chris and look forward to seeing you playing again next season, when you will have "thunder thighs" from all that gym work building them up to compensate.
