Utterly dissapointed today , the first half we were the better team & i was quietly confident we'd get 3 points

But how wrong was i !!! :rotflmao:

I couldnt understand why Rooney was taken off either :018: ,

och well only thing thats made me feel good today is Dons getting beat at home by Hamilton :thumb04:

Being an ICT season ticket holder right now is pure torture !!

We're subjected to the same crap every home game.

The small crowd was mentioned previously, well you can be sure that attendences are going to plummet if this is what's going to be on display at home. If it wasn't for the fact that I've paid for a season ticket then I'd have to think long and hard about forking out cash for that excuse for entertainment. :thumb04: :rotflmao:

pish first half from both teams more entertaining second and on chances created a draw would have been about fair but we could have won this one with ease had rooney's effort not hit the bar and we didn't have much luck in the box

thought our midfield let us down today with black the only one who turned up today.

on the plus rooney looked as if he's definately capable of banging in the goals

mcguire , please drop him now brewster

Tokely is possibly the worst pro footballer ever! Why is he still in the squad, a 2nd division player at the most!! SOOOOO minging it's unreal!

Also the group(including alex macleod again) infront of us in Section G, shouting at us, then giving us abuse when we shouted stuff at the players! O Alex, that was us in the car, whilst you were standing waiting for your lift or whatever!

Disaster!!!

Fraser 4

Tokely 3

McGuire 4

Duff 6

Hastings 6

Black 8

Cowie 6

Vigurs 7

Mcbain 6

Rooney 5

Wood 7

Tokely had a Zibi. There's more chance of brigitte jones finding a man than one of his passes.

Proctor must start at right back when he is fit, our best run of wins last season came when tokely lost his place - coincidence? He was certainly the weakest link today, but he wasn't alone in the dire department.

Fraser was poor for the first goal, when's the last time he won a match for us? He's too easy to beat, rather like Les Fridge he makes simple saves look spectacular but any decent effort is a guaranteed goal. Give Esson a chance.

McGuire is a lightweight, he misreads through balls far too often and is too easily brushed aside. Duff and Munro should start next week surely.

Individual performances aside, the biggest moan of the day has to be our long ball tactics. Brewster seems to want to play 2 big lads up front and hammer the ball up to them all day long. I always thought long ball worked best with a big man - little man combo? Whats the point of Wood or Rooney winning a header when they have no runners to pick out? I thought Wood had a solid game today, some neat touches and clever lay offs. We retained possesion more when the ball was played to him than when it was played to rooney, who didn't really seem to know what to do when he got posession, and whose first touch was heavy too often.

We only seem to start to patiently work our way up the park when bazza is introduced. Why don't other players ever work the ball into the corner like he does? Fair enough we have a young inexperienced team who will be individually inconsistant, but we've scored 2 goals in 3 home games against 3 of the worst defenses in the SPL. You don't have to be Gus Hiddink to realize that our home system and tactics need to be reviewed.

I thought we played reasonably well but just didn't get the rub of the green. The one thing that is worrying me is when i look at our fixtures, i can see us not getting a single point from the next 7 games that include celtic, motherwell, hearts and dun utd.

Disappointed with roscoe, think he really hasn't started so far this eason (aside falkirk and patches aginst the dons).

Vigurs was pish as well, no idea why brew startd him. I know he's trying to incorporate youth into the team, but with duff, vigurs and wood we lacked just a bit of bite rather than if we had munro, imrie and barrowman.

Bring on the jambos.

Motherwell and Hearts have not been playing very well recently, not too sure about Dundee Utd.

We could very well get another humping off of Celtic this year.

Defence sold the jerseys again!

Tokely as previous contributors have indicated was poor, no distribution, threw his arms about when his pass went astray as if it was others fault. He did one decent pass along the grass but that was it, and sold the jerseys big style leading up to second goal.

Would prefer Munro and Duff as certral partnership

Rooney was good have no idea why he was subbed.

Just read Bewster thought Wood played really well (was given man of the match at the ground - why?).

Did Wood have a shot on goal the whole game???

McBain was too quiet again, nees to dominate midfield as we have the others as constructive.

Black played weel enough

I have been advocating for Vigurs to get a run but he wasn't really in it today.

We have now lost at home to both St Mirren and Accies, games we should be expecting to win.

Not winning these negates in part some of the excellent away results

talking a load of sh*** i think....you watching the same game...so easy to blame the youth...imrie did nothing when he came on...at least vigurs put through 4 through balls to the strikers for them to finish but didnt...who else did that...blackie passed the ball backwards or side ways everytime.

Poor game (parts of the 1st half aside)

Poor attendance

Awful atmosphere

Awful result

A day to forget really.

now that i can agree on. to many supporters out there only coming to the games when we're winning...thats not support...win or lose im there.

Vigurs also didn't track back, was lazy and played several poor balls.

Strikers didn't finish? Who had the best chances of the lot? Wood i think......

i cant recall one of his passes not going to a caley player. lack of match fitness yes...lazy no. you really dont like the youth.

I thought Vigurs was fine to be honest. Maybe a bit lightweight at times but not too bad on the whole.

Could we claim that football is soon to become an expensive luxury for many with the "credit crunch" kicking in or is that just a fashionable thing to say at the minute?

i love the youth, but today wasn't the day to test them out.

glad to hear you are a loyal fan though.

well they way i look at it is they are only going to get better the likes of duff, wood and vigurs with each game played...noone really played well today granted. thats why im sticking up for the younger lads coz i really dont think any of them did anything wrong, just didnt play amazing...youth are always going to get judged more coz they are new on the scene.

i just like to support my team regardless the outcome right to the end of every game.

Caleystan, it wasn't even me that shouted it! But before all that, we didn't like getting shouted at to sing, then someone said something back to Alex which resulted in us getting given the finger! What a joke! Also you's weren't shy at shouting abuse today either!

Also again, us getting abuse for not starting songs, there was like another 3200 ICT fans in that ground today and your getting on at about 10 lads for not starting songs?! Get a grip, aye Section G was set up for that, but you can't expect 10 of us to get an atmosphere alone!

Well that were cr@p!

First home game this season for me and a horrible one

losing at home to St Mirren when you are 1-0 up.... gutted!!

We never played great football throughout the match but in the first half I felt we were outworking St Mirren in most areas of the pitch. Because we started Cowie on the left and Vigurs on the right they both had to come infield to use their favoured feet so it was congested in the centre of the park and IMO it just didn't work.... Eventually they moved back to their preferred positions and we started to see more width in the team and looked the more dominant side but there was no real creativity and I couldn't see where a goal was going to come from until we got the penalty. Nice finish from Rooney and was glad to see him off the mark... we finished the first half playing as we should have started and made 2 or 3 half chances but the urgency was evident.

Second half St Mirren obviously had an ear full from McPherson but I still thought we handled everything they were throwing at us and because they had to attack it meant we could counter, Wood had a shot saved and Rooney was extremely unlucky with his effort off the bar but everyone knows what happens when you don't take your chances.... simple ball hit long through the middle of our defence (couldn't see exactly who was at fault but I'm sure both McGuire & Duff could be blaimed) for the poor mans Graham Bayne to score for Midden... 1-1

Mirren had their tales up and were starting to win all the second balls in the centre, Black seemed to be everywhere but where he should be and McBain was posted missing. The team were still putting in plenty of effort though and I thought Cowie & Vigurs were causing St Mirren problems down the flanks but Brew decided to then take Vigurs off and replace him with Imrie... McBain off for Wilson who went wide and Cowie moved into the centre. Then came our second defensive scalf of the game, Iain Brines got in the way of a pass, which dropped straight to a Mirren player and left us out of position, Robb got the ball on the left and Tokely completely miss-timed his challenge letting him drift in behind and into the box, Robb then cut the ball back for a simple finish 1-2

Barrowman came on, we had a couple of chances but the game was over as soon as we let them back into the match

Ratings:

Fraser 4

Did what was expected, don't think he could do anything about the first

Tokely 2

I wouldn't play him against St Mirren again

McGuire 2

Need to see what happened for the first again but he doesn't inspire confidence

Duff 2

Looked nervous throughout the match and don't think he played any worse or better than McGuire

Hasting 3

Was solid defensively but didn't offer much going forward

Cowie 4

Slowly becoming my favourite player in an ICT shirt and for an ex-tink that's saying something... we NEED to get him on a long ass contract

Vigurs 4

Don't know why he was subbed tbh, had a relatively quiet first half but thought he was one of our better players

McBain 2

Didn't look interested, usually the one thing you can say about McBain is that he works his @rse off but I thought he was a passanger today

Black 4

Although he still needs to work on his positioning he never stopped and is easily our most technically gifted player

Rooney 4

Worked hard scored his penalty and unlucky not to get a second... again was totally baffled why he was replaced for Barrowman

Wood 3

Played well, worked hard, IMO he is a very similar player to Rooney.. I would prefer to see Barrowman +1 next week at Tynecastle

subs

Imrie 1

Didn't offer anything else

Wilson 2

Glad I got to see him on the pitch again, although the legs aren't there anymore he still caused problems and stuck in a couple of nice crosses

Barrowman 1

Didn't have a chance to make an impact although nearly got lucky on a couple of occasions

<sigh> was Roscoe23 shouting abuse at the players for the whole game again? He did it sitting behind me for the whole of last season. I swear I can remember him constantly shouting insults out when we were three up against Kilmarnock last season...or is that just a nightmare I had?

No i never! I only did if we were losing, or at Rory, or Brewster, or Duncan, or McGuire!

And I never shouted any abuse today until Tokely completed messed up! At least I voice my opinion unlike the posh main standers who are to scared to raise their voice even a little during a game!
