Need Some Help Guys

I am currently going around all the spl and division 1 clubs forums, attempting to acheive a target on behalf of my disabled cousin.

My cousin has Cerebal Palsy [CP], a brain disability that he was diagnosed with a few years ago now. He lives in Nijmegan in Holland and used to have a promising football career ahead of him. Obviously due to the diagnosis that is no longer possible. However, he was given the chance to play for the Scotland National CP football team, competing in world championships and tournaments. It is taken very seriously and he commits to the squad 100%. Obviously the key problem is the fact he lives in Holland and plays for Scotland, therefore he must travel to Edinburgh once a month to take part in training camps. Unfortunetly, the Scottish FA is the only FA out of England, Ireland, Wales and Northern Ireland, who do not provide funding. My cousin must pay around ?140 for flights every month out of his own pocket to proudly wear the Scottish shirt and compete for the country. If you therefor work it out he pays ?1680 every year purely to train! You don't get paid for playing, he receives nothing in return for the hard work and commitment (not to mention the money) he puts in. I am NOT asking for money donations. I am NOT asking for people to subscribe to anything! All i ask is you sign the petition created by his mum and the SFA. It requires your name, address, phone number and email, that is all. If we can get 1000 signatures in the next week, the petition will be forced to the SFA who will have no choice but to provide funds. This will take no more than 60 seconds of your life, please help out. The link is below.

Petition

There is also the facebook group which will help to raise awareness, please pass it on, email on to friends, anything you like if you are interested in helping out.

Facebook Group

We are currently sitting at 702 signatures out of a required 1000. I would like to thank you in advance for any help and signatures received, its for a great cause and to make the SFA sit up and take notice. I would also like to add that the support from every club i have approached has been overwhelming. The clubs who have so far contributed are Rangers, Celtic, Hearts, St Mirren, Hamilton, St Johnstone, Falkirk, Ross County, Raith Rovers as well as footballeast.com, pieandbovril.com and the tartan army message board. Every club has responded brilliantly, lets see Inverness do the same!

Thanks Guys!

Chris

The petition doesn't seem to be in line with what you've put in the opening post.

From what I can gather, the Scottish CP Team is not currently part of the SFA, who are merely providing coaching via the Cerebral Palsy International Sports and Recreation Association.

The petition seems to suggest that you are looking to change this system to one where the SFA take on the full running and administration of the Scottish CP Team and if that's the case then we're talking about more than the cost of a few flights.

As things stand the SFA are providing a service to the CP-IRSA, so it should be them you are currently petitioning to pay for flights as they are the lead organisation and the ones who will be receiving any grants etc for the operation of the scheme. I think you do the SFA a disservice by painting them as the bad guys.

If I am missing something, or my understanding is wrong, please feel free to correct me.
