Black is a decent player at times, if and when he can control himself.

The answer is send him to a sports psychologist. It worked wonders for Bayne and for his confidence. If Black can get some anger management sessions he is not a player I would want to lose. It all comes down to him and what he wants.

The club can only do so much to support him.

CC will no doubt be blaimed for this but a couple of players were posted missing today...

What Rankin was doing for that first goal I have no clue... he runs to keep the ball in play, does so, and then walks past it and leaves it for Liam Craig (cracking player btw) who runs on to set up the goal.... complete mess.

Missed the 2nd goal

3rd goal looked well offside

Black :008: :008: :008:

For as much slack as McBain has taken over the last while, he was excellent for us in the 2nd half and seemed to be the only player who could keep a hold of the ball.  Rankin's goal was another cracker

Whoever the fanny was that shouted "that's another shocking decision Christie" when Duncan came on (and walked out with 20minutes to go) please explain to me what else he could have done?? Infact don't bother coming back because ICT don't need fans like you... and GIRUY for missing agreat goal!

Yngwie's right. Too many people (step forward EWS  :001:) passing judgement without seeing the game (and we could have done with another couple of hundred fans there today let me tell you).

I've not got much time for Rory but I finally found what he's good at. Working hard to consolidate a defeat  :015: :015: :015: Just don't bring him on if we're trying to win the game.

Seriously though, we've got another game in 48 hours and they looked tired enough today so I had no problems with CC using the subs to rest players. If we went for it with 10 men they would just feed Stokes to pick us off on the break and we'd lose 6-0.

Also Barry was rested and nobody was able to fill his boots, but everybody knows that already. If Barry gets a good 90 mins in on Monday, maybe we can risk Zander in the Cup next week, or more likely Morgan.

As for the game, well, until 32 mins we were the better side and Falkirk hadn't threatened at all. We hadn't done much more than them, but Latapy was being kept quiet by Black/Rankin and possibly CC was waiting till he tired after an hour, like last time.

It all went crazy in a 10 minute spell, when Rankin seemed to be letting the ball go for a throw, then at the last minute kept it in and passed it straight to Craig. Up the park to Latapy who plays in Stokes for a goal totally against the run of play.

Our heads go down and Falkirk have their best spell. Unlike us they make the best of it and score 2 more. Fair play to them but without Stokes and Latapy I think they'd be down alongside the Pars. Stokes is a class above the type of player you normally see in the SPL.

Haven't seen any TV, and all the goals were at the far end, so can't comment on any offsides, whether it was the 1st or 3rd goal.

Second half was just a formality, with the Bairns fans expecting a high score and the team passing it to death trying to break us down. Rankin's goal was another peach, but I'd rather have done without it if he hadn't given away possession at 0-0.

It's St Mirren's turn to be tired after their efforts to hold on for a point at Ibrox, and they lost Hugh Murray too. The players will produce a performance on Monday and get the points- you heard it here first  :021:

We're in the middle of a really tough schedule - 4 games inside 9 days.... The Rangers game obviously drained several of our guys. I wasn't there today but I kept hearing on the radio that Rossco & others did look painfully slow at times...

I just don't think we have sufficient depth in our squad to cope with the physical demands of a gruelling programme like this....

Oh dear oh dear. What a come down from Wednesday. Was that really the same team that was hammering Rangers the other night?

Too many players had off days but lets not take anything away from Falkirk as they played a decent enough game to destroy us in the first half and then take their foot off the pedal in the 2nd half. We had something like 3 shots in the entire game. Two free kicks and Rankins goal which was possibly better than the winner against Rangers. Falkirk fully deserved their win and in truth they should have won about 7 - 1 as they missed some excellent chances after the break.

Our defence was posted missing for the first goal. I take HCs point about Rankin and his odd positioning for the throw in but lets look at it this way. This was a throw in deep in the Falkirk half - well over halfway towards their goal and they scored from it! Two or three passes and our defence was split wide open and Stokes easily beat Brown.

The second was a smart finish from a tight angle. It didn't look like Brown covered himself in glory as Stokes appeared to be running along the byeline before he shot and no keeper should be getting beaten at his near post from such a tight angle though Scotsport might offer a fairer picture of the goal.

Not sure why you think the third was offside Gaz. Tokely got turned on the right IIRC and a ball was fired across the penalty area. Stokes at the back sneaked in to complete his hat trick.

I have no idea what happened with Blackie to be honest. I initially thought Tokely was off myself until I was told it was Black. Someone thought it was for two yellows. The first for kicking the ball away and then another for arguing with the Ref. That said the BBC site says he was booked in the 17th minute so maybe the booking for kicking the ball away was his second after all.

The 2nd half was a cake walk for Falkirk and they barely broke sweat. Barr had a wonderful shot crash off the bar, Stokes missed two easy chances and Brown had to look smart to beat away a Lima drive. It is no understatement to say that the Barins could and probably should have been 7 - 0 up before Rankins great effort at the end. Well done to him for at least appearing to keep trying as the rest of the team began to falter badly.

I know said person and he received a fair bit of lip from someone a bit further down from him who told him to support the team. What was somewhat ironic though is the person who told him to support the team left about 15 minutes early and missed Rankins stunner to GIRUY to him!  :015:

True. There have been a number of people who haven't been to games recently who have told people that performances which have been dire that they are talking rubbish. I doubt then they made it to the last few away games which have been dreadful.

That's the point mate it wasn't a throw in, Rankin kept it in and then just stopped.. Fair play though the defence should have stopped the attack at some point before they reached the goal but it seemed they were as confused as I was to why Rankin just gave them the ball.

The ball was passed by Tokely and then crossed in, I thought the original pass was off side by a good 2 yards but was obviously other side of the pitch to where we were sitting so didn't have the best view.

Dream on!  :015: :002:

I am trying to mind what happened with this throw in for the first goal. From what I remember Rankin was going down the right and just carried the ball out of play. Falkirk took the throw in and a couple of passes later they had scored. I don't quite understand why you say it wasn't a throw in? Did something happen before or after the incident I described there with Rankin taking the ball out that I missed?  :confused02:
