It's very pretty and it does have certain symmetrical qualities, but I think we might get murdered through the middle with just Hart or McBain in there.

exactly you've got a brilliant holding player in russell and blackie who can certainly play there so to have neither there seems a bit tactless. What about putting Black in the centre, paati on the left and dropping hart?/mcbain?

Its a pretty pattern as Johndo says but is actually a 4-5-1 with Blackie playing left mid, where I've seen him in the past do to great effect.

if you want to play 3 in midfield....you NEED Russell Duncan in there to break play up. Also.....that formation is not likely to happen!

You could always stick Duncan on instead of Wilson and swap him with Cowie, so Cowie is played as a winger and bring Wilson on later in the game.  Sadly not many people think my formations are any good but similar ones like the 4-2-4 worked for Brazil and the European Cup winning Celtic team.

Changed days now tho TCF. Exciting attacking football seems to be consigned to the history books pretty much. Teams nowadays seem to be more intrested in NOT loosing goals than scoring

Eh?  short memory, maybe you forgot, but we scord 3 goals against Killie, Gretna Hearts AND Celtic,  we have the skill to score goals and we will score goals.

Motherwell striker Chris Porter is ruled out of the visit of Inverness after suffering a knee injury in the Scottish Cup win over Hearts.

Jim Paterson is still suspended, but Steven McGarry is expected to return from illness.

New signing Luke Daniels could be on the bench after the goalkeeper arrived from West Brom.
